*happy sigh as I hear Lord of the Rings Music playing*
Did you all know that yesterday, December 19th – marked 15 years since The Fellowship of the Ring, the beginning of an incredible journey that would enchant so many people and fill ever so many hearts, first released in the theaters?
I can not even believe that movie is 15 years old… You know that means that I wasn’t even 3 years old yet? I wish I had been born earlier so that I could have experienced the excitement of this incredible movie first hand. So that I could have seen all the merchandise and hoarded figurines and collectibles galore.
For years I wasn’t able to see The Lord of the Rings movies, but I grew up in a household that was obsessed with it, so I heard about it all the time.
I remember seeing Narnia for the first time and totally dying and loving it. I used to say that there was no way Lord of the Rings could be better than that and let me tell you – I got a lot of disapproving looks from my family whenever I said that. In fact, my brother, Jordan used to say – “You better like Lord of the Rings more!”
On December 23rd, 2012 I watched The Fellowship of the Ring for the very first time. Within the first two minutes I was completely hooked. I was taken into Middle-Earth – a world full of mystical creatures, evil sorcerers, and characters with such depth that they felt like friends, and still do to this day.
Ever since that night The Lord of the Rings has held first place in my list of favorite movies. It is a work of art that needs to be seen. A story that needs to be heard. An adventure that needs to be traveled.
There are no words to describe just how amazing it really is and believe me, if you have never seen it or read the books – you are in for a surprise. It’s nothing at all like what you think it is and it will leave you drained and dead.
No matter how many times I watch these movies I still cry. I still laugh. I still feel everything. Though I can never watch it again as I watched it the first time, it will always be special and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I truly feel like each member of the Fellowship are friends of mine. I’ve never felt that way about characters in a movie before. The only others that hold close second are Han Solo and Chewbacca. That’s it.
Because of this close connection I feel to them, I feel that way about the actors behind them. Watching the bonus features and seeing how hard it was on the last day of shooting of The Return of the King for Peter Jackson to say that the scene was good and how Elijah Wood walked up to him crying and embraced him absolutely breaks my heart. They were all a huge family for so many years and this was the end. They had to say their last goodbyes. <3
My favorite movie out of the three is without a doubt Return of the King. It gave me every single emotion you can possibly have. I cried so hard. It’s so beautiful, so epic, so amazing, and so heartbreaking all at the same time. Did you know that Return of the King did a clean sweep at the Academy Awards? It won every single award. What more proof do you need of its amazingness than that? 😉
To those of you who haven’t watched any of the movies yet, when you do, make sure you don’t turn it off right when the credits start rolling. You have to listen to the credits songs. They’re all amazing and are so much more effective when you hear them immediately when the movie ends.
And after you watch them, drop me a comment! I’d love discuss my all time favorite movies with you
Thank you, J.R.R. Tolkien for writing the most amazing story I have ever heard.
And thank you, Peter Jackson, for bringing this story to life in such an amazingly beautiful way. You did an incredible job.
Do you like LOTR? Did it change your life?
Guys. Rogue One trailer.
Go watch it.
I died. So hard.
The music. Everything.
How will I live until December. O_O
With love from a very dead,
Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting in over a week – I got busy doing other things 😉
This is a post I’ve been planning for a while now. I’ve been super excited since the announcement of Frozen 2, but lately I’ve been feeling anti-Frozen because of my first requirement for Frozen 2:
I absolutely, positively, most definitely do not want Elsa to be gay. So many people are petitioning for Elsa to have a girlfriend in the next movie and it’s honestly making me sick – even Idina Menzel herself is for it! Elsa is perfect the way she is – she’s a character loved and obsessed over by thousands of people – she should just stay the way she is!
I’ll be extremely upset with Disney if they go through with this – so please, Disney, if you’re reading this – don’t do it.
My second wish for Frozen 2:
That Elsa has a love interest (not a girlfriend). I really want her to fall in love with a super handsome, super nice guy! She deserves it – she really does XD Don’t you think Jack Frost would be perfect? I think Disney and Dreamworks should team up just once…. XD
That they all have new costumes and don’t wear the same outfit and same styles throughout the entire movie. Come on – be realistic! I was so thankful they had new outfits in Frozen Fever, but please – how about a new style, Disney? 😉
Anna and Kristoff either need to be married or get married in the movie. I literally will die if this doesn’t happen. They love each other and I’m sure a lot of time will have passed, so they should be talking wedding plans, right? XD
That Kristoff sings more!! He has such an amazing voice and he hardly sings in Frozen or Frozen Fever – he needs to have a full song and maybe sing a duet with Anna – they need that, too! XD
Speaking of songs – I really want the songs to be AMAZING! They need to be powerful, emotional, maybe a fun one or two, and they just need to kill me basically LOL!
This is the last one – that the movie is all around OUTSTANDING! I know sequels can be hard, but I believe if they don’t rush into it (which I’m glad they aren’t doing), they can make some magic happen! ;D
So, those are my wishes for Frozen 2! What are yours?
